Volume 18

Welcome to the January edition of UNYAP’s monthly newsletter!

We are excited to say that we have started off the new year on a high note, so let’s get into it!

Alumni Office Hop - TenGerTV

UNYAP had the privilege of visiting the vibrant workplace of our 2022-23 Secretary General, Ts.Egiimaa, at TenGer Television!

TenGerTV stands out as a dynamic, youth-led news channel committed to delivering the most authentic stories, cutting-edge knowledge, and educational content. They are dedicated to transparency and challenge viewers to think differently. Our visit offered us a look into the energetic world of journalism – from the bustling newsrooms and the bright studio lights to TenGerTV’s innovative approaches behind content creation.

We were warmly welcomed by our UNYAP alumna, Ts.Egiimaa, who shared TenGerTV’s history, vision, and dedication to openness, honesty, and building trust. We would like to express our gratitude for Ts.Egiimaa and the entire TenGerTV team for their hospitality and for offering us an inspiring experience.

UNYAP and UNDP’s EU-funded Collaboration to Empower Youth

UNYAP collaborated with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to organize the “Sustainable Future” forum within their framework of the European Union-funded “SGD Aligned Budgeting to Transform Employment in Mongolia” project.

This event welcomed 50 students from 10 Vocational Training Centers and Polytechnic Colleges, offering them an invaluable opportunity to engage directly in the decision-making process. The discussion event was not only to educate participants on key issues such as sustainable development, quality education, decent work for youth, and mental health but also to shed light on the common challenges they face. Through open and collaborative discussions, the students voiced their concerns and proposed appropriate solutions. These will then be presented to policymakers, leading to an empowering discussion.

At UNYAP, we view this as a milestone in our continuous commitment to youth empowerment. We are proud of our contributions toward building a brighter future for young people, showcasing our dedicated efforts and the meaningful impact we aim to achieve.

ISU 5th Graders Visit the UN for a Deep Dive into the SDGs

UNYAP has had the wonderful opportunity to enlighten the 5th-grade students of the International School of Ulaanbaatar (ISU) about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during their visit to the United Nations in Mongolia!

Understanding that today’s youth and children are tomorrow’s leaders, we see the crucial need to instill in them, from a young age, the importance of the SDGs and their role in shaping a better future. To achieve this, the UN Mongolia, along with UNYAP, facilitated a series of collaborative learning experiences. These sessions indeed covered the topics of the history and objectives of the UN, but also the importance of youth involvement in achieving the SDGs.

We at UNYAP are grateful to have played a significant role in educating the future changemakers of ISU in the what, why, and also the how of fostering a sustainable future.

Youth Employment E-Project Launch

UNYAP is thrilled to announce the launch of our Youth Employment E-Project, aimed at educating Mongolia’s youth about labor rights!

We’ve worked hard to create a collection of engaging and informative online content to empower young individuals. This project is dedicated to providing young adults with the knowledge to identify informal labor practices and understand the essentials of labor rights, all while ensuring easy access through our platforms.

By offering online resources that help young adults gain a fundamental understanding of labor rights, we are confident in our ability to reach and educate a large audience among Mongolia’s youth.
